The goal was to create a space that is both practical and visually appealing, offering visitors a comfortable place to relax while highlighting the quality of Maibec Architectural products.
Architecture and Design
For this project, Paramount Builder LLC called on the expertise of HNTB’s design teams.
Project Overview
Design and install a modern pergola for a rest area in Beckley. The goal was to combine design and functionality by creating a pleasant, shaded space for visitors, in a location that also offers essential amenities such as restrooms, a restaurant, and a gas station.
Materials
The pergola stands as a testament to Maibec Architectural’s commitment to uniting aesthetics, durability, and performance. Featuring 192 battens in various widths and lengths of 12 and 16 feet, the structure showcases the HD-printed assembled batten in the Jatoba Blond (204-06) texture.
The battens were pre-assembled to streamline on-site installation and ensure precise alignment under controlled factory conditions. Close collaboration between Maibec Architectural’s technical team and the project’s team enabled the development of custom solutions tailored to the structure’s specific requirements. To ensure structural integrity and streamline installation, 60 custom flat bars and 12 custom angle bars were engineered, pre-drilled, and pre-painted for efficient on-site assembly.
Satisfaction
The Beckley rest area pergola embodies Maibec Architectural’s commitment to delivering sustainable, design-forward solutions and support. This project showcases the seamless integration of our HD printed battens, blending contemporary architecture with respect for the surrounding environment.
